Nobody quite got this one right. You must take the first two ruffs in hand low! If you ruff high early on you will need the King of Diamonds to dispose of dummy’s fourth Heart or Club. If it gets ruffed, you will lose another trick in the Heart or Club suit.

Win with AH in dummy. Lead 3H from dummy and trump in hand with small S. Lead small C back to AC in dummy.Lead next H to hand and trump high, KS. Lead next small club back to dummy’s K. This working depends on opposition’s 7 clubs between them being no worse than 5-2 split. Lead last H back to hand and trump with J S. Both trumps are unbeatable so these last two plays are safe against either opposition having only 2 hearts and being able to trump in. Lead small S from hand to dummy, and draw trump.… Read more »

Win 1st trick with HA. Lead a 2nd heart and ruff with SK. Return to hand with S3 to SA and ruff another heart with SJ. Lead S4 back to hand. Two more rounds of trumps throwing low diamonds from hand and then 2 top diamonds and 3 top clubs gives you 12 tricks (This only fails if trumps split 5-0.)

Weekly Quiz There are 10 Top Tricks, 4S, 1H, 2D and 3C, and 30 HCP(19+11). However, between the hands, there are the top 6 cards in the Trump Suit, Spades, which should provide for ruffing subsequent rounds of H and/or D, providing that the Trumps split no worse than 4:1. This seems a reasonable assumption since Opponents have not shown any long suits and are relatively balanced.
