This is a classic situation where you are not suitable to rebid 3 ♣ or 2 NT, because although the hand has 18 high card points, the good 6 card suit make it worth at least a couple of points more.

In the modern game a jump rebid of 3 NT after a 1 level response shows an UNBALANCED HAND, typically with a solid 6 or 7 card minor, 16-18 points, with shortness in partner’s suit.

This hand is perfect for a 3 NT rebid.

A BALANCED 18 count such as ♠ 54 ♥ KQ74 ♦ A64 ♣ AKQ9 should rebid 2 NT
